For many years the image of a pyramid has been integrated throughout my artwork. It began in 1979 when a pyramid emerged from a wisp of clouds in a small painting I did while in California. Later, after a little schooling, five pyramids arose from the beginnings of the one. I considered the five pyramids to be a representation of me...my senses existing within the image itself...being a part of the whole experience. Since that time, pyramids have always attracted my attention. I can find a pyramid or triangular shape in almost everything. Last summer I took a trip to Las Vegas, NV for an educational conference sponsored by IBM (a mac evangelist undercover :). As we flew into the city, I noticed a very large structure which caught my attention immediately! Looming on the edge of the "strip" was a very large, very black pyramid. I was in awe of the beauty the building emitted against the bright yellow, red, and orange sands of the Nevada desert. The building was the Luxor Hotel and Casino, and the interior was just like all the other casinos in Vegas.....*ka-CHING!!* But at night a beam of light would streak heavenward from it's glass cap...the only word I could think of when I looked at it was "beacon".
